/ Please Help! 6 days off feel awful! |

Hi, I'm new. 6 days ago I started to get off my Paxil CR which I've been taking for about a year or two. This morning I woke up, and felt just plain weird, unnaturally tired, and dizzy. A few hours later, it got worse, I'm now very dizzy, crabby, sweating, and kind of confused. I feel crazy! I'm gonna drink a lot of water and some Green Tea, but can someone please help? I could use some advice. Thanks

from paxil (which i think is the same as seroxat). i've been on it for about seven years and after speaking with my pharmacologist we decided that this is as good a time as ever to try to wain off the drug.
i'm currently on my first step down and already i'm starting to feel extremely down, i've been having bad anxiety dreams, and have been feeling unbelievably helpless (and i'm sure my pms is not helping the situation). i decided to join this board to talk with other people who know what i'm going through because i find it near impossible to communicate how i'm feeling with people who can't relate.

Hi, I've just found this site and, firstly, thank God you exist! I've been going crazy over the last few days trying to come off Paroxetine Biogaran after a period of three years. I think I may have tried to reduce too quickly : I dropped from 20mg to 10 mg per day two weeks ago. I'm getting quite bad dizzy sensations and, worst of all, nights and nights of insomnia. Is it better for me to go back to 20mg and then try to reduce more slowly, say by 10mg a week? Thanks for any help and advice you can give!!

Hi, You probably shouldn't go cold turkey. Weaning off slowly seems the best way to do it. Why don't you continue taking your meds until you can talk to your doctor? I hope you're feeling better! Gwen

Hi Labratty!
I read your post with great interest because, yes, I have also experienced floating in my dreams fairly recently. Actually, I really enjoy the feeling and, usually, I am floating above other people, right up to the ceiling of a room. I am disappointed, however, that it may be the result of medication as I had rather hoped that it could have some spiritual significance! I have been on Seroxat for about 14 years and have gained a lot of weight which is really unfortunate. I would like to come off this medication as, for the rest of my life, I have managed to live without it. The dominant medical opinion is that I would not be able to come off it. I am determined to give it a try in the near future. I am currently on 60mg and I have found its effectiveness fluctuates and I have recently been put on an anti-psychotic (very low dose) to heighten the therapeutic effect. Are you trying to come off Seroxat? I have found a good diet book for those on such medication called The Good Mood Diet which increases the good kind of carbs. which raises the seratonin level and makes you lose weight. Take care and good luck!

WELCOME
/ New to Site |

Just found this site and am really glad to be able to read about others' experiences. Though some of it is heart-breaking! I struggle daily with what to do to improve things for my life and how to actually get better but it's a bit like climbing mountainous sand dunes; i never seem to get any major break- thru's ! Been on Paroxetine 30mg for a few yrs now and Clomipramine before that for about 7yrs. I did have 1yr in between on no drugs but it caused major socialising problems for me and also eventually I just needed to quieten the endless worrying in my head, paroxetine did that within 1/2 hr of taking it. so I'm resigned to it for now. I have some bad dreams sometimes when I miss a dose but I wondered generally if others on Paroxetine can 'float' in their dreams. I have got it down to a fine art now! Does anyone else have a recurring dream ability? Lots of Luck to you all! LabRatty
